A good day.

Ran some errands, got some new clothes, and painted this little treasure my mom found at the local Goodwill.

About an hour or so? Not really sure, felt quick (and messy).

Rusty at these, but just playing around.

Cube

Started over an abstract with the intent of doing another Rubik's cube, but sort of like how this is.

I'll sit on it a while.

Finished up the Chinese poppy and duck, and framed up another piece too.

Rubik's Cube Sketch

The first of many.

I'm like a kid who just won't let it go,
Twisting and turning the colours in rows,

Need to be more direct with the watercolour, but better paper would help too. (This stuff buckles pretty bad.)

An even more unproductive day.

Spent most of the day organizing, tidying up, and watching movies.

Here is the start of a nice little water colour. I'm out of practice, but its fun geting back into it.

Wasted most of it, but rallied fairly well in the evening.

A preview and a pallet

Was prepping a board for a new piece, and while waiting for the gesso to dry, decided to be productive.

Not proper value scales, just tube colour (or mix) plus varying degrees of white added.

(Need better lighting in my studio for taking pictures....)

More work

Still not quite there...

Got some new colours (Alizarin Crimson and Indian Yellow in the Open acrylics), Always fun playing with new colours. They're both very transparent colours, so it'll take some time and experimenting to really get to know them.
